Team Leader - Victoria
Tell us about your professional background.
I currently own a business in Events supplying decorations and styling, and run this on a weekend in a part-time capacity. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and government restrictions, I have closed the business for the time being and will look to reopen in the Summer of 2021.
Before Law In Order, I was working for Coles Supermarkets as a Store Support Manager. I had various roles with Coles over the years as I developed my knowledge and skills since starting with them as a casual when I was 15 years old.
What made you choose Law In Order?
The ability to transfer my skills learned in other industries to this role and the opportunity to develop knowledge of the legal sector.
What do you like about working at Law In Order?
No day looks the same. Beside our drive to help our clients, it’s fast paced and has a variety of different work. The ever-changing rules of courts and tribunals due to COVID-19 has made it challenging for clients to know what the current guidelines are. I enjoy having the ability to assist clients work out how they can proceed and how we can assist them.
Tell us something that we don't know about you.
My partner and I raise puppies for Guide Dogs Victoria. This is a volunteer 12-16 month period where we get to have a puppy in our lives, whilst getting them ready to go on to further training within Guide Dogs. Hopefully, the puppy will then go on to assist a person with low or no vision. This is our second dog. The first went on to be a qualified Guide Dog.
What do you like doing in your spare time?
I enjoy training our current pup, Tina, including taking her on adventures and developing her skills and comfort level in different environments. This does include a weekly trip to Bunnings or a newly found plant shop to look at the plants. However, being a bit plant obsessed, it’s hard to walk away without purchasing another plant and filling our garden or house jungle even further. During COVID-19 lockdown in Melbourne, we spent so much time inside that we wanted to make our own little sanctuary as we were limited in how much we could visit the outdoors.
What is your favourite holiday destination and what do you like about it?
My absolute favourite place is Inverloch located just past Phillip Island. This place was filled with many family holidays and memories growing up. This beach town has so much to do, see and eat. Or it’s perfect to just lie on the beach, relax and do nothing. It’s the perfect landing spot if you want to visit the local wineries, farms and new foodie experiences, and support small towns.
